My name is Mrs. Tracy Shields. I am beginning my 17th year of teaching and couldn't be more excited! I graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Elementary and Special Education. I then continued my education at Clarion University and received my Masters Degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction. I have a great passion for both STEM and STEAM projects which are incorporated into my curriculum. During this year, I plan on pursuing my dream of finding the right program for my Doctorate in Education.
I live in Cranberry, PA with my husband Brad, our two kids Zachary who is 8 and Hannah who is 5, and our fun loving Boston Terrier, Tyson! We love sports, especially the Steelers, and we love to be outside as much as possible! We are also very big advocates of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and do whatever we can to fundraise for their annual walk in June! In my spare time I love to run, workout, and cook!
At OLOF, my husband and I are co-chairing the Golf Outing this Fall, I chair the FUN Run in the Spring, and I am was the co-chair of OLOF's Famous 200 Club. My favorite part about teaching at OLOF is that I can talk about my faith everyday in every class. I was born and raised Catholic. Growing up I was a member of St. John the Baptist in Monaca and now a member of St. Ferdinand's in Cranberry.
In my classroom you will see group working stations, one on one space for teacher assistance, SMART Board technology, and student organization centers, but most importantly a safe and welcoming environment. I will work with you to ensure that your student is receiving the best possible education in a stress free, encouraging classroom!
Please feel free to email me anytime with any questions that you may have! I will be happy to help in anyway that I can!
